Benson Agricultural Education

Through agricultural education, the students will develop an understanding of our food, fiber, and natural resources at the local, national and world scale. The implementation of the three components of agriculture education including classroom instruction, FFA, and Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) will provide students with skill sets desired in the agriculture industry. They will obtain knowledge essential for production agriculture, agriculture business, and agriculture science through course offerings in Agricultural Explorations, Agricultural Mechanics, Agricultural Leadership, Animal Science, Agricultural Business, and Plant Science. Students will be given a wide exposure to subjects within agriculture providing them with a broad background in pursing their educational and career goals. FFA will give students an opportunity to gain valuable career skills through leadership opportunities and contest participation. Supervised Agricultural Experiences will provide the students with hands-on opportunities and attain employable skills desired in the agricultural production, agricultural business, and agriculture science industries. It is the intention of the program to give students an education that will benefit them with the appropriate skills relative to their educational and career goals. In addition, with the skills gained from the agricultural education program, students will be able to fulfill their goals with personal growth, premier leadership, and career success.
